***Central Louisiana*** Blessing of the Bikes

EVENT DATE:  April 24, 2010

The 8th Annual "Blessing of the Bikes" will take place at the Livingston Parish Fairgrounds 10:00AM to 10:00PM located at 13325 Florida Blvd, Livingston, LA 70754.  There is a $5 Donation for Admission.

The actual blessing will take place at 12:30 and is All-Denominational.

 (ALD) is a degenerative disorder of myelin, a complex fatty neural tissue that insulates many nerves of the central and peripheral nervous systems. Without myelin, nerves are unable to conduct an impulse, leading to increasing disability as myelin destruction increases and intensifies. The victims of ALD are typically male, and the disease begins its expression around the ages 5 to 10. The disease is due to an X-linked inheritance of peroxisomes that cannot properly process long chain fatty acids in the brain.ALD is a type of leukodystrophy, disorders affecting the growth and/or development of myelin.

Researchers

 The United Leukodystrophy Foundation (ULF) is dedicated to helping children and adults who have Leukodystrophy and assisting the family members, professionals and support services that serve them. The ULF is committed to the identification, treatment and cure of all leukodystrophies through programs of education, advocacy, research and service.

 

***Omaha, NE*** 2nd Annual Nebraska Law Ride

EVENT DATE:  May 8, 2010

River City Chapter-Omaha, NE

Join over 100 motorcyclists on a 155 mile escorted journey from Omaha to Grand Island, honoring over 135 members of Public Safety who gave their lives in the line of duty.   Help the IWMC reach the $5,000 mark in fund raising for the Law Enforcement Memorial in Grand Island, Nebraska.

***San Marcos, CA***Hallowed Few MC Downed Officer Run

I hope you all enjoyed your holidays.  This e-mail is to ask all of you to save the date, May 15, 2010.  Rocket, our National Secretary, is a training officer at the Palomar Police Academy.  Every year, the academy organizes a downed officer ride.  This year's ride will be May 15th.
For those of you outside San Diego, this is a great time of year to visit.  As always, the weather will be perfect.  In the past, LEMC involvement is San Diego has been minimal, but we want to change that.  Please forward this to every member of your respective clubs and any other riders who may be interested.  If we get enough response, the Hallowed Few MC will organize a pre-party on Friday night.  We will also assist however we can with airport pick-ups, hotel recommendations, bike rentals, etc.

Join the IWMC Idaho, for its 14th Annual Pig Roast and Buffet brunch at the Nook.  The cost is $22.50 per plate (includes both events).

The Idaho Chapter will have its usual raffle with great prizes donated by some of our local venders! We will have 2 pistols like always to raffle off (Make and Model to be determined) Ticket prices to be determined day of raffle
